We’ve all done it. We’ve finished a great fic. We’ve sighed contentedly and closed the tab. We’ve moved on to other things.
Then days, weeks, maybe months later we remember it. Maybe it’s only a line or two. Maybe it’s a distinct situation. We go back to find it… only we can’t. We search high. We search low. We scour Ao3 tags and Tumblr for hours, but it’s nowhere to be found.
Finding Stony is here to help! We’ll search out that fic for you using the power of crowdsourcing! Someone out there knows the name and location of the fic you are looking for, and we’d like to help connect those dots.
How it works:
1. First and most importantly, please follow and signal boost us! This only works if we have followers who can help identify fics!
2. Tell us about your fic! The more detail you can give us the better. It’s super hard for us to find a fic with the ask of “Mutual pining. Then they kiss”. Think about the following:
- Characters other than Steve and Tony
- Side pairings
- Unique situations or quotes
- Locations
- Length
- Where you think you read it the first time
- Wow long ago you read it
- Literally anything else you can think of regarding the fic
3. Let us know if you want to post your ask anonymously/reply privately, otherwise we will post your ask publicly for sourcing. Remember, you can always submit your ask anonymously.
4. Each post will be given a request number. If you know the fic, please message us with the details of the fic and the request number so we can post it.
5. Be patient! We are just getting started here, and it’s going to be a learning experience for everyone involved.
