captain-rosegarden replied to your post “Hi I think the last time an event ended in avengers academy you posted…”

Thanks for answering! I did not know about the gold orbs in exchange for character shards you have at vibranium level (I have no characters at vibranium). I get stuck between focusing on the events and doing things like ranking up and increasing rarity for characters, so I think I need to pay more attention to that. Yeah RNG sucks I’m not lucky.

It’s actually beneficial to skip events. If you build up rarity and level up characters, it makes easier to get rewards.

Rarity makes the most difference in fights. And on maps, the harder fights have the better drops, leading to faster orb purchasing.

The tricky thing with the game is figuring out which area to work on the most. I would recommend getting a team together of plat (Rarity 4) and vibranium (Rarity 5) characters. Tony is a great one to start with – cheap for the energy and he’s very helpful. I’d also recommend Steve, Enchantress and Maria Hill.

The character list with rarity abilities can be found here so you can figure out the best path:

By the way, I’m terrible at following my own advice. I get sucked into all the events when I should take a break, rank up my hoard of unranked characters, level people up.

Good luck!

Hi I think the last time an event ended in avengers academy you posted that you got all of the new characters? I’m wondering how? I’ve been playing since the beginning and usually have all the returning characters since the latest update but I never get new ones. I was wondering if you have any tips?

Thanks for asking!

I got very lucky last event – for example, I got an orb with 9 Speed shards which earned me Speed. Considering the RNG for this event, it’s not looking for me to get any of the new event characters.

As you know, the game has moved to RNG methods for new characters. This is playing on impatience to get you to buy shards to get the orbs to get the new characters.

If you’re willing to be patient and get characters outside the event, then that’s the best way to get new characters. But it can be a long time to build up character shards to the required 10.

The best way to do that is to maximize your opportunities to earn gold orbs. First option is farming – getting characters to Rarity 5 (vibranium) which unlocks the option to buy gold orbs with characters shards; I’m farming Iron Man for the 30 characters shards to earn gold orbs.

Another option is to increase your academy power level. As you get to Silver, and then Gold, you’ll get more orbs during the monthly rewards.

Other than, it’s pay through shards or have good luck.

Personally, I am less than thrilled that the new system essentially punishes long-term players like you and me. We’ve earned all the characters so returning characters aren’t a draw but it’s harder to get the new ones. Deciding to wait on new characters and focussing on leveling up and rarity-ing up characters so you can get the orb mats and orb bonuses in events will also increase your chances at earning orbs.

I’m not the most patient person with this game. I missed out on Wanda, Thane and Ghost in their events but recently got them through orbs. It’s possible!

I hope that this was helpful and I didn’t repeat information that you had? And thanks for asking again.

In light of the tragic shooting at the Tree of Life congregation in Pittsburgh on Saturday, we at Marvel Trumps Hate would like to share the verified fundraiser that has been made to help the synagogue with physical repairs and to assist the survivors as well as the families of the deceased. As a GoFundMe Certified Charity campaign, all funds will be processed by the PayPal Giving Fund and will be sent directly to the synagogue instead of through the campaign organizer.

Although donations will not be counted towards winning bid amounts, they are highly encouraged. Please consider donating to the fundraiser or to one of the organizations on our list that work against hate crimes and groups (donations to the following organizations or any of the others on our list count towards winning bid amounts):

  • Life

We are sickened by this horrific and violent anti-Semitic attack and
heartbroken for those who were murdered, the loved ones they left

We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community.

May peace be upon the deceased, and may their memories be a blessing.
