Late night in Avengers Mansion.

I hit over 2 000 followers, I can’t believe it!

This drawing is a big ā€˜thank you’ for every reblog (especially!!) and like on my art, every nice message I got, every comment in tags that made me smile, every commissioner that helped me. I have way more motivation for drawing and sharing my drawings thanks to you, so thank you for sticking around ā¤

(I made similiar drawing [here] when I hit 500 followers, who knows maybe it’s going to be my new tradition)

Help Me Get to Seattle!

kiyaar:

If you’ve been wondering why I’ve dropped off the map lately, it’s because I’ve been preparing to go to this writer’s workshop called Clarion West. (I got into Clarion West! Holy shit.) This is the coolest fucking thing that’s ever happened to me and means I’m moving ever closer to Serious Writing! They get a shit-ton of applications and they only take 18 people every year. I am truly living the dream.Ā

My tuition is taken care of, but I still need some help getting there. A lot of you know I’ve been struggling with health stuff. Some of you also know that chronic illness doesn’t come cheap. I’m unemployed, and as my pain gets worse and my mobility declines, so too does my only source of income, dog-walking gigs, run dry. My sister brings me food a lot. I lean on my parents to cover my specialists and they’re pulling that from their retirement. I didn’t actually think I would get into this workshop; but here we are and I have to cover the attendant expenses associated with a trip across the country. It’s not a thing you turn down if you have the chance to go.Ā

I set up a gofundme (late in the game, 3 weeks until departure, I know, but I really thought I could white-knuckle it/raise the stuff I needed myself), and you can read more about me and this workshop and donate here.Ā (for those wondering, gofundme bought youcaring and no longer takes a cut of donations for personal campaigns.)

If you prefer, you can also find my ko-fi here.

Please only donate if you are able. If you can kick a few bucks my way that’s great. If not, even a reblog is appreciated. I hate doing this but this is maybe the most important thing that’s ever happened to me and if I have to fly across the country with my clothes in a garbage bag, that’s what I’ll do to make it happen.Ā

Congrats to Manish Mamtani for winning the 2017 Share The Experience photo contest. This stunning shot of the Milky Way over Maine’s Acadia National Park will grace next year’s America the Beautiful public lands pass. Manish captured this photo at the park’s Boulder Beach while on a weekend getaway. ā€œAfter taking this picture, we spent a couple of hours at the Boulder Beach enjoying the beautiful clear star-filled sky and the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. It was very beautiful and peaceful experience and we had the whole beach to ourselves,ā€ said Manish.Ā

Check out all of the winning photos.
