Black Panther Is Getting a LEGO TV Special
Marvel Animation is getting in on the LEGO movie magic by bringing their first solo minifigure film to life.
At New York Comic Con, Marvel Animation announced it would be teaming up with LEGO for a Black Panther TV special, titled Black Panther: Trouble in Wakanda. This marks the second Black Panther project on the docket from Marvel, with a live-action film set to debut in February.
Previously, Marvel Animation released LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload. The previous film, however, was an ensemble flick while the new Black Panther title will center around only the Wakandan hero. If Black Panther: Trouble in Wakanda is to follow in the footsteps of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload the special will most likely go straight to DVD.
There is no official release date in place yet, but Marvel Animation will have to keep in mind the three Marvel Studios films slated for release in 2018, two of which will feature Black Panther, making the earlier months of the year a good time to release a supplementary title. Black Pantherhits theaters in February, followed by Avengers: Infinity War in May, and Ant-Man and The Wasp in July.
