Why we love Steve/Tony Part 2 of 2

cap-ironman:

There are so many different ways that Steve and Tony’s lives
intertwine across the different Marvel universes
(so many, in fact, that we had to split this post into two parts!). It means that the
possibilities of what they mean to each other are virtually endless! We get to
see such an assortment of emotions and scenarios, and all of them build on each
other to make Steve and Tony’s relationship more meaningful.

We get relief at knowing the other is alive.

We get respect and teamwork…

image

…domestic bliss…

image

…and family arguments.

image
image

There’s betrayal and anger….

image

…pining…

image

…sadness…

image
image

and some mutual admiration!

image

We see them acknowledge their feelings…

image
image

…and soft I will miss you’s.

Where do you begin when designing an Iron Man suit?

“I think the design always tends to emerge from the chest plate. So whenever I start working on a design, I generally start from the RT – which is the circular light on his chest – and work it out from there, working out the chest and shoulders area. The first step sort of defines what the theme is. It’s also where your eye is going to be drawn for the most part, so that sort of defines what the whole look is going to be. And then it’s always fun if we get to redesign the helmet.” – Phil Saunders, Concept Artist (Art by Phil Saunders and Ryan Meinerding)

Why we love Steve/Tony, Part 1 of 2

cap-ironman:

There is just something about them — it doesn’t seem to
matter what universe — but there is something about them that makes us want
them to be together. Shipping Steve and Tony gives us a whole range of interactions
and character dynamics to draw from.

We love them when they are awkward and uncertain around each other.

image

How even when they don’t know each other, there is obvious chemistry between
them.

image

We love the way they snark and tease each other…

image

…their flirting…

image

…and their playful mocking.

image

We love how intense they get talking to each other…

image
image

…and how the tension ratchets up when they’re being antagonistic.

image
image
image

We love the way they take turns rescuing each other…

image
image
image

…and giving rides out of trouble.

image

We love how they lend a hand, both in and out of costume…

image

…that they support each other during missions and at home…

image

…and that when the going gets tough, they’re still there, helping.

image

We love them because they put feelings aside and fight for what they
believe is right, even when it does get personal…

image

…but they defend each other, too….

image

…and sacrifice themselves.

I cannot believe that Robert John Downey Jr designed a custom Steve Rogers car as a gift for Chris Evans. I cannot believe this. The leather is based on the jacket from catfa. I’m going to absolutely explode WHAT A PAL WHAT A GOOD AND GENEROUS AMI. THE DEDICATION TO THE AESTHETIQUE……this is some tony stark level gift-giving this is absolutely iconic

This is a commission from the unbelievably amazing @mirthandstar!! I asked for hoodie!Steve smiling at a text from Tony and gosh, I just love this result so much!! I go hard for the cozy chic look – hot boys in hoodies make me feel faint – and Steve is so good at it.

BTW that’s his SI hoodie, not one he stole from Tony, because he needs his very own swag that fits him as perfectly as this one does. Thank you Mirth! I love it so much <33333
