Poliwag belongs to Pokemon . Artwork by Meredith McClaren
[Description: A photo with a stone courtyard and manufactured waterfall. An illustration of me is crouched in front of a Poliwag pokemon. I am patting it on the head. I am wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, black slippers, and my brown hair in a ponytail.]
Don’t be intimidated by posts saying something like “I wrote 7k today!”
I will probably never write 7k in one day. And that’s okay. It really is. On an average day, 1k takes me two or three hours. But I enjoy myself, I like my writing and I know my wip will get finished someday if I keep working.
Shoutout to:
The writers who don’t write 7k per day
The writers who don’t write every day
The writers who actively procrastinate
The writers who love writing nonetheless
Also, those of us who write 7K words in a day? Usually that’s not day after day. I think my record was 8,238 words in a day. That November I wrote 117 words in a month. It’s September 30 and I’m not gonna meet my word goal for September. I’ve only met my word goal one month so far this year. But you keep working, and you get there.
Shout out to all those writers. You rock. Keep going.
To those unfamiliar with the concept, second claims are when all the fics in the Big Bang are made available to be claimed again by a second artist, resulting in teams of one writer and two artists. Unlike the first round of claims, however, second claims are completely optional and not all stories are guaranteed to be claimed again.
We encourage all artists who missed the first round of claims to join in and participate in the second round! For the first part of second claims, only artists who have not yet joined the Big Bang are allowed to claim a story.
Artists who have already claimed a story in round one will be invited to claim a second story the following day, on October 2nd at 1:00 UTC. We ask that they do not try to claim a second story at this time, in order to make the process more equitable. We welcome artists signing up twice, but when considering whether to make a second claim or not, we ask that they accord their second story with the same amount of enthusiasm and respect as the first.
If you are a new artist participant and the claim start time does not work for you, we encourage you to find someone who will put in a claim for you by proxy. All your proxy has to do is comment on the claims post instead of you when the time comes, providing your username, email, and your claim choices. If you do not already know someone who can do this for you, you can email the mod team (cap.im.events@gmail.com) for assistance in finding a proxy.
Writers, if you didn’t opt out of being double claimed and don’t want your story to be claimed a second time, please email cap.im.events@gmail.com now so that we can remove you from the list before claims open.

Squirtle belongs to Pokemon . Artwork by Meredith McClaren
[Description: A photo of a houses front patio. There are two faded yellow chairs and a green coffee table. Drawn sitting in the closest chair is a chibi version of myself. I am leaning forward with my chin resting on my left hand. I am wearing rolled jeans, a red plaid shirt and my brown hair is tied in a pony tail. At my feet is a Squirtle shell from Pokemon. There are two eyes peeking out of the shell’s opening.]
