We’re nearing the finish line! It’s amazing that so many bidders are involved in this auction—we’ve surpassed 1,000 bids being placed, and we’re looking forward to even more as things get heated up in the final hours. We love that you’re all so passionate about spreading the word and raising money for the wonderful charities on our list!

Firstly, an important message to bidders:

• If you haven’t been receiving bid/outbid emails, please contact us by emailing us at marveltrumpshate@gmail.com OR by pinging a mod in the #bug-reports channel on our Discord server. This is so that if you’re a winning bidder, we’ll know to send out another copy of your “Winning Bidder” notification email by hand. As the clock ticks closer to the auction deadline, you should all check the auctions you bid on and make sure that your bids are registered in the “Total Bids Placed” tab with both your name and bid amount showing. Please be patient if you’re having problems receiving emails. We’ll have a lot going on behind the scenes as the auction closes, but we are aware of the issue and promise that we’ll get to you as soon as possible.

If you had to bow out from your bidding war, consider lending some change to a group bid. Some pod bids may need an extra boost to win their auctions, and you can still help out even if you are only able or want to contribute $5! You can check the list of existing pod bids here. Feel free to start a pod bid on your own or in the pod bid channel on our Discord. It isn’t too late to make one! If you make or have a pod bid that hasn’t yet been recorded, let us know so we can update our pod bid list.

Another option is to have a look at our golden needle tag; we have expanded it to include auctions that haven’t been bid on yet and all auctions currently sitting at $10 or under, so that it’s easier to search for something you can bid on if you have a tight budget. We know that some people don’t have much money to spare but still want to bid, and this is a great way to find auctions that are within budget.

For those of you who want to narrow down your search to your favorite ships and characters, you can do so by doing a multiple tag search (e.g., https://mthofferings.tumblr.com/search/golden-needle+ship:-samsteve for Sam/Steve golden needles). Please refer to this page to see our tag list and more instructions on doing a multiple tag search.

If you intend to use a proxy bidder in the final hours of the auction, make sure that you choose a trusted friend or mutual to do the bidding for you and have checked out our Proxy Bidding info post. You or your proxy will need to send us your details once the auction is over so that we can connect the right person with their creator.

Finally, remember that if you end up being a winning bidder, you’ll have to send us proof of donation by 11:59 PM ET on November 5 at the latest (what time is that for me?). We have our Bidder’s FAQ and Donation Guide to help you sort out what to do when the time comes.
