Work Description:
I am offering one Steve/Tony story of approximately 5,000-10,000 words in length. I am willing to write in any comics-based universe (including AU miniseries and What If issues), provided that the canon material is available to me. I anticipate being able to begin work on this story in January 2019. The completion date of the story will depend on the complexity of the prompt and the amount of canon research that is asked of me.

Yes, I signed up for MTH and, yes, I am offering one Steve/Tony story, any rating, any comics universe. If it’s comics, I will read it and I will write you a Steve/Tony story to your request, set in it, no matter how small or obscure. You want 616? Great! Any era you want! You want Ults? Great! You want Marvel Adventures? Also great! 1872, Noir, Bullet Points? Bring it on! You desperately want a Steve/Tony story set in that What If where Tony lost the Armor Wars and Justin Hammer put a mind-control collar on him and made him walk around in his underwear? I don’t know how you’d get a Steve/Tony story out of that, but I am game to try! I need to be able to get a copy of the comics you want, but other than that, the sky is the limit.
I am currently still working on the last story I offered for a fannish auction (a sequel to the Steve/Tony Star Trek AU Straight on till Morning for Stony Trumps Hate), which affects this auction in two ways. One is that I can’t start this until I’m done with that, but I’m figuring I ought to be done with that by January, so that’s (hopefully!) about when I can start.
The other thing is that I really, seriously mean it about the estimated word count this time, people. I really can’t write another novel-length story by the auction work deadline. I am again tentatively willing to write sequels if that’s a thing you want to see from me, and per auction rules I believe you are all allowed to band together and do group bids again – but for this one it really, really can’t be another novel-length story, or my brain will melt. Sorry. (I do have some ideas for sequels or parts thereof that would fit into my estimated wordcount; I also have some that definitely would not. So if you are thinking about some kind of sequel from me, please ask first about the specific story you have in mind, so I can figure out if the length is workable.) You are also welcome to request an original prompt of your own, obviously. If you have no specific ideas but you know you just want a story by me, I have plenty of ideas to suggest and of course I am willing to work with you on developing a starting idea into something we’re both happy with.
