A different kind of giveaway…

Soooo, I think it’s about time for another follower appreciation
giveaway, but this time, I want to do something a little different than
the usual “reblog or like this post”. I want to reward effort, so this
giveaway will be tied to two specific actions.

Fair warning: I have no idea what the prizes will be at this point, but I’m sure they will be excellent.

Entry Method 1: Support Your Stony Creators

If
you’ve been around here for any amount of time, you may have noticed
that I am a big advocate of thanking our hardworking authors, artists,
and other contributors via kudos, comments, etc. I want to encourage
this behavior, so, for the month of August, each thoughtful comment you leave on an AO3 fic (sorry, I know this narrows the scope, but it’s
the easiest for me to verify) will get you an entry into the giveaway,
up to ten entries. How will this work?

1. You consume a piece of Steve/Tony media on AO3, whether it be a fic or a piece of art or whatever.
2. You click the comment button.
3. You type a meaningful comment in the comment box.
4. You post said comment.
5. You repeat this up to ten times.
6. Maybe you get into the habit of commenting?
7. You
   send me an ask OFF ANON with your AO3 username and the work number on
   AO3. If there are multiple chapters and/or pages of comments, please
   send me the chapter and/or page your comment is on.
8. I note it in my spreadsheet with the entries for method 2.
9. At the end of the month, I choose 2-3 winners from said spreadsheet via random number generator.

A few things to remember:

• Send me ALL your entries for comments at once.
  Getting ten separate asks for your comments is a little too much for me
  to process. I will only enter the first ask you send me, so make it
  count!
• If you fail to include your AO3 username, the work
  number, chapter/page for the comment, or send the ask anon, I will
  delete your ask.
• A meaningful comment is not “I like
  this”.  It is not “Thanks!” It is “I really like how you wrote Tony
  here. His insecurity really shines through, but also his crazy
  badassary” or “The way you drew Steve’s hands here is absolutely
  amazing!” I am a detail oriented insomniac. Don’t think I won’t check.

Entry Method 2: Find That Fic

This method is much more straightforward. We have some outstanding fic finding requests in the seeking tag.

1. You look through the seeking tag.
2. You recognize a fic.
3. You send me an ask (again, off anon) with the information for that fic.
4. I
   post it (just let me know if you don’t want me to post your name – I
   can redact that easily) and make a mark in my spreadsheet with the
   entries from method 1. I choose 2-3 winners at the end of the month.

Since we have a bunch of older requests, I am going to incentivize people to really dig in.

• Responses for requests numbered 100 or lower get 3 points.
• Responses on requests numbered 101 to 286 (the request number we are on as of today) get 2 points.
• Anything new from now to the end of August will be worth 1 point.
• Responses on requests already tagged “found” will not be granted points.

Other Rules

1. As
   always, please ignore my typos and grammar mistakes. I’m tired. I’m
   lazy. I am not nearly as detail oriented as I tried to make myself seem.
2. Be polite to each other
3. You must be following @findingstony
4. Reblogs, as always, are not responses. I don’t review them, and I won’t put them in as entries. They must be sent in as asks.
5. I will close entries at midnight central time on Friday, August 31.
6. I
   reserve the right to shut this down if I don’t think it’s working. I
   have no idea what I’m doing, so if it goes sideways, I’ll call it off
   and issue prizes based on the entries I have.
7. You must be willing to provide shipping or email details to collect your prize
