John Atkinson Grimshaw.

I love Grimshaw’s paintings, I mean not really from an artistic POV, they’d probably be considered pretty lousy by most art history scholars, but they just have so much ATMOSPHERE. Also, he was a Yorkshireman so THUMBS UP FOR THE WEST RIDING.

yes! I love that three of them got used as cover art for audiobooks of sherlock holmes stories read by edward hardwicke.

They’re actually very highly regarded.  So no need to apologize for liking them.
